What will be on the program

There will be major quilt raffle as well as a multi-draw raffle, displays of different crafts, an outdoor 'airing of the quilts' (weather permitting), craft items and fabrics for sale, lucky dips and door prizes, craft demonstrations, a quilt 'trunk show' by quilt designer and maker, Jacky Hens, a paper crafts presentation by Sally from Dreamworks on the Bay and entertainment by Jacky and Jean.

There will be block and card draws for you to enter.  For the block draw make an applique block using an 8 &1/2" natural homespun background in the show theme of "coastal/beach/sea".  Please attach your name to the block- not embroidered on it.
To enter the card draw you make a greeting card in any theme.  It can be suitable for an adult or child and can include a verse if you wish.  Please place your card in a clear plastic bag with your name written on the bag.
When you arrive you need to enter your blocks and cards in the draws so they can be sorted into groups for drawing.  The draws will be held throughout the day.  We hope you will participate in the draws as the more the merrier - and more chances to win.  You can enter more than one block or card in the draws.

When we started

We have two craft groups that meet in the Toogoom Hall on Wednesdays. Toogoom Craft and Chat meet in the morning 9am to 11.30am. We do all sorts of different crafts including knitting, crochet, cardmaking. cross stitch, painting, patchwork and quilting.  The quilters stay till 4pm and make quilts for seriously ill children in hospitals. We call ourselves Toogoom Project Linus Group.  We send our quilts to the Royal Brisbane Children's Hospital and Hervey Bay Hospital.  We also make quilts for special projects at times e.g. for the bushfire survivors.

We thought, let's have a quilt show. What about the other crafters? Well, let's have a quilt and craft show. We could call it the Coastal Crafters Carnival mmm sounds good to me. Who's going to help? What do we need to do? Let's get started.

We got a committee together - there's Annie, Catherine, Claire, Desley, Jan, Joan, Josie, June, Lorraine, Pam and Wendy.  Lots of helping hands.
